As budget travelers, we appreciated the convenience of a secure luggage storage area and helpful staff. the option to cook our own meals and the provision of free coffee and tea were a bonus. the six bed room was spacious, with beds not crowded together, and each room had its own dedicated bathroom. the owner was responsive via email and even provided fresh towels daily. the location near the beach, bus stops to Bilbao and San Sebastián, and supermarkets was perfect.

There were instances of noise disturbances caused by other guests, as there was no overnight staff to enforce quiet hours.

this hostel was a pleasant surprise. after my previous stay in zarautz, i didn't expect much, but galerna aterpetxea exceeded my expectations. the manager was incredibly helpful, the accommodation was clean and secure, and the nearby restaurant was delicious. definitely recommend!

kitchenette was lacking.

The nearest airport was so conveniently far that I could enjoy the sound of airplanes landing all day long. The promenade was 18 km away, giving me the perfect excuse to stay in and avoid exercising.

Such a shame that there were no pillow menus at the hotel. How am I supposed to sleep comfortably without a selection of luxurious pillows to choose from?
